Karen Lee Werts, 87, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026 at a Topeka care facility. She was born on February 25, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Raymond and Irene (McMinn) Sanford.

Karen graduated from Lecompton High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Northland Christian Church.
