Rebecca J. Athon

Rebecca J. Athon, 83 of Topeka passed away on Thursday October 1, 2026. She was born December 11, 1942 the daughter of Melvin and Anna Dobrovolny Scheibe. She graduated from Waterville High School at Waterville, Kansas. Rebecca worked at KPL prior to retiring. She was a avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, and enjoyed frequenting garage sales, and bargain hunting.

Preceding her in death are her father and step-mother, Melvin and Ruth Scheibe, and son Shawn Athon.Rebecca is survived by her son, Craig Athon of Topeka Kansas, daughter Lisa Athon (Chip Ethridge, partner) of Venice, Florida, and grandchildren Matt Athon (Cortney, wife), Morgan Waterman (Eric Waterman, husband), and Garrett Athon, and three great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday October 6, 2026, at Parker-Price and Davidson Cremations, Funerals and Receptions.
