Marlin E. Wiltz

Marlin Eugene Wiltz passed from this earthly realm on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Marlin, along with his twin brother, Melvin were born May 6, 1942, to Andrew and Mary Wiltz at their home in Corning, Kansas.

Marlin attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School and graduated from Corning High School. He attended Highland Community College for a short time before he was drafted into the United States Army and served two years active duty and four years in the Army National Guard.

He worked for Canteen Vending, Dupont in Topeka, KS, Corpus Christi, TX, and Brevard, NC. He also worked at Flexel, Frito Lay, and Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. While Marlin worked full time, he was also co-owner of Patty’s Place. He spent time doing maintenance and sometimes he would even get behind the grill. After retirement, he worked at Payless Shoe Source.

He was married to RaEtta Jerome for 10 years and Sandra Clear for 10 years. In 1987 he married Patricia (Patty) Coon.

Marlin had many hobbies over the years including playing football, slow pitch softball, woodworking, remodeling houses, playing spider solitaire, doing cross word puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. He was a corvette enthusiast and enjoyed driving around Topeka in his vettes.

Left to mourn his life is his wife of 39 years, Patty. His children, Marla (Dennis) Larkin, Paula Hanes, Travis (Shandi) Wiltz, Brandi (Travis) Platt, Krystal (Whitney) Wiltz, Kacey (Aryn) Wiltz. Daughter-in-law Cathy McNaughton.

Grandchildren, Dawson Platt, Daylee Platt, Josh (Dani) McNaughton, Jacob (Caitlyn) McNaughton, Crystal (Don) Mills, Patrick Owens, Steven (Cara) Owens, Addison Wiltz, David Larkin, Josh (Suzi) Larkin, Jeremie Larkin, and Shelby Larkin, as well as many great grandchildren.

His brother Gerald (Joyce) Wiltz, Sister Yvonne Kolomechuk, Sister-in-law Dorothy Wiltz, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Larry (Lee) Coon, Garry (Elizabeth) Coon, James (Sharron) Coon.

Marlin was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew & Mary Wiltz, his in laws, Charles & Bettie Coon, his twin brother, Melvin Wiltz, his sisters & brothers-in-law, Janice & Bob Alexander, Mary Ann & Roger Fisher, and his son, Jason McNaughton.

Visitation will be held at Parker Price and Davidson Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, KS, on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 from 5:00pm-7:00pm.

Celebration of life will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at Parker Price and Davidson Funeral Home.
