Lonnie U. Hobbs

Lonnie U. Hobbs, 91, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2026.

He was born June 11, 1935, in Valencia, Kansas, the son of Lonnie and Nancy (Johnson) Hobbs. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1953.

Lonnie married Carolyn Yvonne Hobbs on November 12, 1954 in Topeka, KS. They enjoyed traveling together through the years, going to the casino and spending time with family at special dinners.

Golfing was one of Lonnie's passions. He spent many hours on the golf course and enjoyed traveling throughout the country with his friends to various courses. Lonnie also enjoyed playing poker and would have weekly poker nights. He would go to the casino to try out his luck.

His greatest passion was by far spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Hobbs; his children, Daryl (Jan) Hobbs and Rick E. Hobbs; four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Floyd Hobbs and sister, Mildred Wampler

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at Topeka Cemetery in the Garden Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
