William "Bill" Peden II

Bill Peden, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on January 8, 2026, at his home in Topeka, Kansas, surrounded by family. He was born on February 17, 1949, in Atchison, Kansas. Bill lived a life of dedication and service, working at Goodyear for 37 years before retiring in 2004.

A proud graduate of Jefferson West, where he finished his education in 1967, Bill was known for his dry sense of humor and his love for the outdoors, nature, and animals. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying activities such as fishing, hunting, and gardening. Additionally, he cherished watching sports, often sharing moments of joy and laughter with his family during games.

Bill is survived by his daughters Jennifer (Lee) Martin and Michelle (Sean) Juarez, and his son Will (Mary) Peden. He was a devoted grandfather to Marissa, Heath, Amanda, Jade, Samuel, Luke, Ashley (Jazmine), Brandon, and Hunter. He is also survived by his sister Vicki Schaefer and brother Chuck VanHoutan.

He was preceded in death by his father William A. Peden, mother Rena Mable Page Peden, brothers Rick Peden, Tom VanHoutan, and Darrell VanHoutan, as well as his first wife Mary Peden and second wife Glenda Peden.

Bill's legacy of humor, kindness, and love for nature will always be remembered by those who had the privilege to know him.

Cremation is planned. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Parker-Price & Davidson Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, KS 66608. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service.
