Vickie A. Werick, 53, of Topeka passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.   She was born February 9, 1970 at Silsbee, Texas the daughter of Ronald and Mickey Creel McCabe.   She lived part of her early life in California before returning to Texas.   She graduated from high school at Flour Bluff, Texas.    Vickie had lived in Topeka for over 20 years at the time she passed on, working the last several years at Southwest Publishing.   She enjoyed arts and crafts, decorating and Christmas time.    She loved her dog Bubbles.

She is survived by her children, Jillian Werick of Topeka, Dustin Werick of Topeka, Kendra Westler of Chanute, Kansas, Kolby Lewis of Chanute, Kansas and Quinton Morrison of Neosho Falls, Kansas; husband Maurice Burnett of Topeka; mother, Mickey Sikes of Lake Corpus Christi, Texas; father, Ronald McCabe of San Antonio, Texas; adopted children, Monique Judy and Elizabeth Kunard of Topeka; siblings, Richard McCabe of Lake Corpus, Christi, Texas, Robert McCabe and wife Traci of Houston, Texas and Shonnie Cooper of Alpharetta, Georgia; and ten grandchildren which includes Royal Jones of Topeka.

She was married to Richard Werick.   Richard passed away on September 29, 2013.

Cremation is planned.   A celebration of Vickie’s life will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at her home in Topeka.   Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka assisted the family.   www.davidsonfuneral.com
