Veronica Kay (Artzer) Lewis, 79, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2026, peacefully surrounded by her family.
She was born March 1, 1947, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Eugene Joseph and Mary Jo (Otney) Artzer. She was a 1965 graduate of Hayden High School in Topeka.
Veronica was employed as a Legal Secretary and was a homemaker for many years.
She was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Topeka.
Veronica married Ted Glenn Lewis on January 13, 1968 in Topeka, KS. He survives in Topeka. Other survivors include her daughter, Pam Lewis and her husband, Raymond Martinez, Jr. of Topeka; four grandchildren, Chelsea Lewis and her significant other, Melvin Hicks, Jr., Kaylee Martinez and her significant other, Shadoe Salter, Tye Lewis and significant other, Danielle Gomez and Trey Martinez; 14 great-grandchildren, Alayna, Taegan, Avanah, Calleigh, Bradyn, Aralinn, Avery, Carter, Kingdin, Kambree, Brylee, Aria, Landon, Shadoe, Jr., and one expected; and five siblings, Donna Garvey, Mary Ann Alfrey, Nancy Burghart, Jerri Blasingame and Chris Artzer, all of Topeka.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Karl Lewis; her great-granddaughter, Brielle Martinez; and her brother, Eugene Artzer, Jr.
Veronica and Ted had a beautiful and loving marriage of almost 59 years! She also shared a special bond with her daughter, “Q”, her granddaughter, Chelsea “Sweet Baby Girl”, her grandson, Tye “Little Guy” and had a unique bond with each of her family members. She enjoyed baking, camping, fishing, her favorite card game 31 with her grandchildren and working on puzzles. She was notorious of making sure the house was fully decorated for every holiday. She had a knack for planning epic adventures that kept the great-grandkids giggling and busy. Her zest for life and love for her family made every moment sparkle.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Parker Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, with a funeral ceremony following at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow the service. Cremation will follow.
