Thomas Lee Becher (Tommy) passed away on 30 May 2025 at the age of 68, after a valiant battle with cancer. Tommy was born on 8 July 1956 in Fulton, MO, to Thomas A. and Jeri (Speedy) Becher.
As a child, he grew up in multiple states and Germany. Tommy was the oldest son and was a “rock” for his family. Tommy was the only quiet child. He could never get a word in. He graduated from Washburn Rural High School in 1974. He celebrated his 50th class reunion last year. Tommy was excited to share his stories with his family after reconnecting with classmates.
Tommy served greater than 30 years in the Kansas Army National Guard (AGR). His overseas deployments included: Germany (in support of Desert Storm), Iraq, and Djibouti, Africa. Tommy retired as a First Sergeant.
Tommy loved spending time fishing with Rachel and friends. He was always up for a road trip to Ferdinand, IN to spend time with family, especially at the American Legion or ball park.
Tommy spent nearly 10 years taking care of his parents prior to their passing.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Jo Fender; brothers, David and John; and his nephew, Michael.
Tommy is survived by his sisters, Judy Lykins, Janet Kirby, and Katrina Becher (Chris Josephson); his brothers, Donald and Gary Becher; his daughter, Rachel Weaver; numerous nephews and nieces along with his loving and supportive friends. (long live the Circle O).
As per Tommy’s Wishes there will be no funeral services. We will have a Celebration of Life with family and friends in his honor. Tommy is laid to rest at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
