Thomas J. Dempewolf, age 66, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018 at his home in Topeka. Tom was born October 8, 1951 in Topeka the son of Francis and Ethel Phillips Dempewolf. He grew up in the Oakland area graduating from Sacred Heart Catholic School and Hayden High School in 1969. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked for the Topeka Public Library and then for IBEW Local #226. He volunteered with the refurbishing of the St. Joseph Catholic School in its transition to Let’s Help. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1, Knights of Columbus in North Topeka and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Teddy, Larry and Kenny. He is survived by five brothers, Gerald, John, Dan, Steve and Bob Dempewolf and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Parish rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Davidson Funeral Home followed by visitation from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. He will lie in state Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Columbkille Church Cemetery at Blaine, Kansas at 12:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart St. Joseph Catholic Church and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. davidsonfuneral.com.
