Tanya J. Howard

Tanya J. Howard, 79, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025. She was born February 9, 1946, in Topeka the daughter of Vida and Edward Wells, Jr. She lived in Topeka most of her life. She graduated from Topeka High School. Time with family and hosting Christmas Eve for 51 years was important to Tanya. She loved to decorate for all the holidays and made floral arrangements for her beautiful home and her family members. Everyone remembers weekends with her family where they would get together to play pitch.

She is survived by her children, Bob Middendorf and wife Leslie of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Bill Middendorf and wife Andi of Hideaway, Texas, Scott Middendorf and wife Denise of Raytown, Missouri, Jammie Middendorf and wife Annette of Topeka, Kansas, Rodney and Missy of Topeka, and T.J. (Tanya) and husband Bryan of Topeka, Kansas; sister, Terry Brown; nephews, Danny and Chad Rodriguez; her aunt and best friend, Cherie Seckinger; and her grandchildren, Joy, Lauren, Joshua, Zach, Keely, Shayna, Turner, Keaton, Ashley and Kolby.

Tanya was preceded in death by her first husband Walter E. Middendorf and her husband LeRoy Howard; grandson, Tyler Middendorf; parents, Dewey and Vida Wells; and her daughter-in-law, Joy Middendorf.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Wednesday evening, May 14th at Parker-Price Cremations and Funeral Services, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, Kansas 66608. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Parker-Price and Davidson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka Ks 66606.
