Jean Dixon, age 80 of Topeka passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at Midland Hospice Care. Jean was born November 3, 1936 in Winfield, Kansas the daughter of Medford and Lola Markley Clodfelter. She graduated from Winfield High School in 1955. She married Leslie Leroy Dixon June 10, 1955 in Winfield. He preceded her in death January 9, 1983. Jean worked as a secretary at the Winfield High School. Jean was a past member of First Christian Church in Winfield where she served as a secretary. While in Topeka, Jean was a member of West Side Christian Church. Jean volunteered as a library aide at Cair Paravel Latin School. She was also an accomplished seamstress and artist. She was a member of the Epsilon Sigma Alpha National Sorority and Order of Eastern Star in Winfield.
Jean is survived by two daughters, Kelly (Doug) Jeffrey of Granby, Colorado and Dana (Doug) Walker of Topeka; a brother, Jack (Betty) Clodfelter of Lakewood, Colorado; two grandsons, Lucas and Derek Walker; a niece, Statia Shelton; a nephew, Chris (Nianhua) Clodfelter and a great niece, Alicia (Tyler) Goffredi.
Family will greet friends Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at West Side Christian Church in Topeka with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Highland Cemetery in Winfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Cair Paravel Latin School Library or Epsilon Sigma Alpha National Sorority and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.
