Sierra Grace Burchett July 5, 2001 – April 12, 2026

Sierra Grace Burchett, 24, passed away on April 12, 2026. She was born on July 5, 2001, in Topeka, Kansas, to Laura and Nicholas Burchett.

Sierra lived in Wenatchee, Washington, where she shared an apartment with her two roommates, Isobel Burchett and Jess Pilgrim, who are grieving the loss of their friend. There, she built meaningful friendships and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Sierra was a graduate of Lawrence Virtual School in Lawrence Kansas and earned her Associate of Science degree from Allen County Community College, where she studied Environmental Science, a milestone that spoke to her dedication and determination. Sierra had worked as a Sterile Processing Technician at CVCH and was proud to be building a career in healthcare. Her work reflected her strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and desire to care for others behind the scenes in a meaningful way.

Sierra was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, and cousin. She is survived by her parents, Laura and Nicholas Burchett; her brothers, Matthew (Lauren) Burchett and Evan Burchett; and her cherished grandparents, Margaret Scharf, Joane and Jim Wisenhunt, and Mary Burchett.

She will be greatly missed by her aunts and uncles on her mother’s side, Brian and Sheryl Scharf, and Robert and Beth Scharf; and on her father’s side, Joe and Julie Burchett, and Billy Burchett. She is also lovingly remembered by her cousins, Kerri-Ann (Corey) Barnett, Brendan Scharf, Bobby Scharf, Billy Scharf, Bradley Scharf, Anthony Burchett, and Holly Burchett. Sierra was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Andrew Scharf and Billy Joe Burchett.

Sierra will be remembered for being wickedly funny, extraordinarily gifted, and incredibly intelligent. She had a unique sense of fashion that reflected her bold spirit and individuality. She loved art, both appreciating the work of others and creating her own. She loved online gaming and was talented at decorating with the things she could find in a thrift store. Deeply loyal to her friends and passionate in all that she pursued, Sierra loved fiercely. Sierra had the most stunning blue eyes that could not be missed, a captivating smile, and an infectious laugh. She was always thankful for the things in her life and had a deep love for and special bond with her brother Evan.

Sierra also had a strong connection to nature that began with the many adventures she went on with her first best friends, her Grandma and Grandpa Scharf. Her favorite childhood places often included trees, open grass, and a nearby creek or stream. Simple, peaceful settings where she felt most at home.

Sierra also had a special love for her cats, Nanashe, Pumpkin, and Nugget, who were constant companions at different times throughout her life, bringing her comfort, joy, and unconditional love. In true Sierra fashion, she even managed to convince her mom, who is terribly allergic to cats, not only to welcome one cat into the home, but somehow three, a story that perfectly captures her determination.

Sierra was one of the most strong-willed people you could ever meet. If Sierra didn't want to do something, there wasn't anyone who was going to convince her otherwise. Once her desire to do something, however, became bigger than her fear, there was nothing holding her back. Her strength, persistence, and unmistakable spirit defined her and will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.

Though her time here was far too short, Sierra’s impact will be immeasurable. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
