Shirley Jeanne Atchison

Shirley Jeanne Atchison, 89, of Topeka, passed away Friday, August 7, 2026.

She was born November 7, 1936, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Thomas and Cecile (Williams) Chenoweth. She graduated from Seaman High School.

Shirley loved Yorkies. She had a passion for growing and tending to her Orchids. She was apart of the Orchid Society from Orlando, FL. Shirley loved going to the beach.

Shirley married Paul Atchison on October 31, 1985 in Oklahoma City, OK.

She is survived by her children, Kevin L. (Mary) Kesler and Kimberly Kesler; her grandchildren, Thomas H. Kesler, Victoria (Jason) C. Williams, Sean M. Kesler and Autumn Wettengel; five great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Karen Barnes and Thomas H. Chenoweth; granddaughter, Misty White; her husband, Paul Atchison; her previous husbands, Leo Kesler and Jack Miller.

She was cremated and family will be having private services at a later date. The family suggests instead of contributions that you buy and keep an Orchid in her honor.
