Sheryl Lynn Price, a cherished and devoted homemaker whose heart beat tirelessly for her family, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, in Hoyt, Kansas. Born on June 19, 1954, in Topeka, Kansas, Sheryl’s life was a vibrant tapestry of love, laughter, and unfiltered honesty that touched all who knew her.

Although her dedication to her future started at Topeka High School, Sheryl's greatest accomplishments in life were her children and grandchildren, whom she adored deeply and cared for with unwavering devotion. She had a deeply rooted love for her family, one that she never hesitated to express. Her warm embrace and keen wit created a home filled with joy, humor, and a welcoming spirit. Known for her blunt honesty and fearless approach, Sheryl could always be counted on to tell you exactly what you did right—and just as candidly, what you did wrong. This unique blend of fierce love and forthrightness was quintessentially Sheryl.

Sheryl was also a character full of endearing quirks that made her unforgettable. She had a habit of bestowing her own inventive nicknames on loved ones, never using their real names, and anytime Blue Bloods or Boston Blue was on, everyone ran the risk of being kicked out—signals of her lively and spirited household. Holidays held a special place in her heart, particularly Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter, along with everyone’s birthdays except her own, which she playfully overlooked. She delighted in giving off-the-wall Christmas presents just to watch the reactions, her laughter ringing through the room as she reveled in those moments.

An ardent fan and the most hardcore admirer of Elvis Presley and Tom Jones the world has ever known, Sheryl knew every detail about these legendary icons and enjoyed hours of watching YouTube and videos featuring them, alongside Bob Seger, Eric Clapton, and Leeann Rimes. She found pleasure in a range of interests: The Voice UK, the Olympics, football, and NASCAR; late-night outings with her sister Janet to sneak cheeseburgers; long, laughter-filled phone calls with Janet, sharing secrets and jokes, often at someone’s expense, and perhaps even at the expense of each other. Sheryl was someone who literally loved to see people come through her door (even though she had a doormat that said “Go Away”), savoring the joy of having friends and family spend the night in her warm home. She also had a penchant for shopping, particularly on the Home Shopping Network and QVC, where she embraced her love of finding treasures.

Sheryl’s family remains a testament to the loving foundation she built. She is survived by her devoted sons, Dusty “Shon” (Lissa “Lisa”) Price and Steven "Wevie" LR Lovelady; her treasured grandchildren Karlie "Precious" and Logan "Logie" Nixon, Bradyn "Brady" Price, and bonus granddaughter McKenzie Price; and granddogs Maisy and Piper who surely brought her comfort and joy. Her loving siblings, Jude (Marcia "Missy") Price and Janet Rusher, stand with their extended family, including nephews Jesse (Dakota Boatman) Price, Darin Price, Sam Price; nieces Kimberly Williams, Stacey Parker, and bonus niece Lilly Harakal, all carrying forward the legacy Sheryl nurtured.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Raymond "Bud" Price and Helen Price; husband, Steven A. Lovelady; brother, Darrel Price; sister, Peggy Price; sister-in-law, Leslie Price; and her cherished puppy, Precious Little Girl—each holding a special place in her heart and memory.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Sheryl’s beautiful life will be held at Rochester Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas, located at 1200 Northwest Menninger Road, on March 23, 2026, at 1:00pm. It will be a time for family and friends to come together, to remember the laughter, love, and honesty that defined her, and to say their final goodbyes to a truly remarkable woman who always made sure you knew just how much you were loved.

Sheryl Lynn Price’s legacy is one of fierce love, joyous spirit, unwavering honesty, and unforgettable laughter. She leaves behind a world made brighter and richer by her presence and the profound warmth she shared with all who had the privilege of calling her family or friend. She will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved her most.
