Roy Allen Sutton

Roy Allen Sutton, 79, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on June 26, 2026. He was born on December 18, 1946, and was a graduate of Topeka West High School. He married Sandra (Stover) on February 3, 1968. Roy worked in construction before beginning a distinguished career as a mechanic. He served Kansas Power and Light for several years and later worked internationally in Turkey and the Philippines as a hydraulic mechanic. Upon returning to Topeka, he continued his mechanical career for more than two decades, specializing in hydraulic systems.

Roy served nine years with the Kansas National Guard’s 190th Air Refueling Wing at Forbes Field as a Crew Chief on the KC‑135 aircraft. He was a dedicated member of Seaman Community Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Sutton; children Jerry (Sandy) Sutton, Topeka; Terry (Paula) Sutton, Henderson, NY; Sherry (Tim) Webb, Topeka; and Kerry Sutton, Alabama. Sisters Shirley Sutton (MN) and Cecelia Aenk (KS) brother Jim Sutton (PA); eight grandchildren; and two great‑grandsons.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Monday, July 20, 2026 at Seaman Community Church, 2036 NW Taylor St, Topeka, KS 66608. Burial at Prairie Home Cemetery will be at a later date.

Donations can be made to either to Brayden & Camden's College Fund or Seaman Community Church in lieu of flowers.
