Ronald E. Regester, age 75, of Carbondale, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019 at the Village Villa Nursing Home in Nortonville. Ron was born August 6, 1944 in Clay Center, KS the son of Graham and Twila Carlson Regester. He graduated from Appanoose High School. He served in the United States Air Force for 27 years. Ron worked at the Topeka V.A. Hospital for over 22 years. He married Elaine Ratcliff October 26, 1984. She preceded him in death May 26, 2019. They had lived in Alaska for over 18 years. He was a member of the Heritage Country Cowboy Church in Scranton.
He is survived by three sons, Ronny Johnston, Jr. of New Jersey, Steve Garman of Carbondale and Tom Ratcliff of Carbondale; a daughter, Tammy Zeigler of Pennsylvania; a brother, Doug Regester of Manhattan; four sisters, Judy Wiesner of Bonner Springs, KS, Nancy Stinger of Salina, KS, Dawn Brewer of Salina, KS and Melissa Martin of Salina; nine grandchildren, Rico, Shaolin, Kaylee, Neosho, Scott, Wyatt, Zane, Tyler and Daylee, and two great grandchildren, Karen and Koti.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Heritage Country Cowboy Church, 15767 South Topeka Ave., Scranton, KS. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Interment will be at the Carbondale Cemetery. davidsonfuneral.com.
