Rodreca “Roddy” Louise Schwant, 81, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away peacefully on December 7th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 4th, 1944, in Vancouver, Washington, and lived a life marked by grace, dedication, and deep, unwavering love for those around her.
Roddy graduated from West Salem High School in 1962 and later went on to complete beautician school in Salem, Oregon, California. She built an extraordinary career spanning more than 60 years, during which she became known not only for her gifted hands but for her warm heart and genuine compassion. Roddy touched countless lives—making each person who sat in her chair feel beautiful, valued, and truly cared for. Her work was never just a profession; it was her passion and her ministry, a way of connecting with people and bringing light into their lives.
In 1964, Roddy met her soulmate, Wilbur, in Ventura, California. They married in 1966 and went on to share nearly six decades of partnership defined by love, love of the Lord, devotion and steadfast support.
Roddy is survived by her devoted husband, Wilbur Schwant; her son, Jeff Schwant of Topeka, KS; and her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Eldon Jackson of Meriden, KS. She is also survived by her sisters, Gwen Lakey of Vancouver, Washington, and Carolyn Mathews of Salem, Oregon. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren—Haley, Caleb, and Tegan—and her cherished great-grandchildren Treyton, Alice, and Violet, each of whom brought immeasurable joy and pride to her life.
Roddy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Zell Rawlins.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her infectious laughter, and the unconditional love she poured into her family and everyone blessed to know her. Her presence was a gift, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Parker-Price & Davidson Cremations and Funeral Services, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, Kansas 66608. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 4211 NW Topeka, Blvd, Topeka Ks 66617. Inurnment will follow at Rochester Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church or to the organization of the donor's choice.
