Rod Matthew Smith, AKA "Rowdy", 51, of Waverly, passed away Friday, December 16, 2022.

He was born March 14, 1971, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Ronald and Dee Ann (Davenport) Woodson. He was a 1989 graduate of Seaman High School.

Rod was an electrician with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union # 226.

Survivors include his mother, Dee Ann Woodson of Topeka; brothers, Scott Smith (Kat) of Topeka and Steve Smith (Kim) of Orlando, FL; nieces, Tatum Smith of Overland Park and Macy Smith of Lansing; nephew, Dan Smith (Samantha) of Minneola, FL; as well as his two German Shorthaired Pointers, Bugz and Sky and a loving extended family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Lee Smith and his step-father Larry Woodson.

Rod loved his dogs, hunting, fishing, golfing, the Chiefs, KU basketball, NASCAR, the sprint car races in Knoxville, Iowa, and especially spending time with his family, friends, and union brothers.

A celebration of life gathering will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at the Parker Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka.
