Robert “Don” Ferguson, age 74, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2020 in Topeka. Don was born July 7, 1945 in Vallejo, California the son of Robert and Wilma (Vaughn) Ferguson. He graduated from Highland Park High School. Don married Paula Kotel December 28, 1984 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Don worked as a self-employed over-the-road truck driver for over 30 years. Don played in several bands over the years such as the Silver Eagle Band and the Good Time Boogy Band. Don served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Don is survived by his wife, Paula of over 35 years; a son, Troy (Shelly) Ferguson; a daughter, Christine (Kelly) Coulson of Tonganoxie, KS; a sister-in-law, Denise Kotel of Prairie Village, KS and Jackie Meyer; a brother-in-law, Robert Kotel Jr. of Overland Park, KS; three grandchildren, Danielle Ferguson, Shelby (Ben) Wharton of Lee’s Summit, MO and Nathan Strange of Kansas City, KS, and a great granddaughter, Hadley Wharton.
Memorial visitation will be Thursday, January 30, 2020 from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. davidsonfuneral.com
