Patricia Alice Mcclellan

June 14, 1939 — September 13, 2018

Patricia “Pat” (Neal) McClellan passed away peacefully at home on September 13, 2018 surrounded by her family. Pat was born on June 14, 1939 to Harold and Dorothy Neal in Sterling, Kansas. Pat grew up in Sterling, Kansas where she later graduated from Sterling High School. She then married her high school sweetheart, Gene McClellan. They lived in Hutchinson, Dodge City, Salina, and Manhattan. They later divorced.

Pat worked for 18 years for the City of Manhattan as the Accountant Supervisor before she was forced to take an early retirement due to her health. Pat faced many physical challenges throughout her life but she did not let that get her down. She continued to defy odds throughout her life. To her family and friends she was known as our superhero because her inner strength was far greater than that of any other.

Pat was an avid reader and avid sports fan. She loved to watch K-State sports, the Royals, and the Chiefs. She also enjoyed crocheting and doing cross-stitch. But by far her greatest love was her family. She lived a long, strong life to be here for her family. She loved to follow the kid’s activities and to talk and visit with her family. Pat spent the last 30 years living with her daughter Cindy so that Cindy could provide her care and she could remain close to her family. Family was indeed the most important thing to Pat.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Corey, and great-granddaughter, Luisa Wofford. She is survived by two daughters: Cindy (Steve) Renyer, Topeka, and Chez McClellan, Manhattan; 6 grandchildren: Lari (Donna) Wofford, Topeka, Greg (Lynae) Curtis, Hoisington, Cody and Kyle McClellan, Topeka, and Jadyn and Jerek McClellan, Manhattan; and four great-grandchildren Lyrique and Lorenzo Wofford, Topeka and Brenna and Blake Thompson, Hoisington. She is also survived by her sister, Jackie (Duane) Kruger, Sterling, and brother, Jim (Marcia) Neal, Kanopolis. Other survivors include numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends that adored Pat.

Graveside services will be Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.   at the Sterling Cemetery, Sterling, Kansas. She will lie in state Wednesday from noon – 7:30 p.m. with visitation from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home.    Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Public Library, Red Carpet Services and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. davidsonfuneral.com
