Norma Jean Lister, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at her home. She was born on April 8, 1934, in Garnett, Kansas, to Edith Britton and Alva Macklin.
Norma first married Alvin McNaughton, and together they welcomed two children: Sandra Clear and Alvin Ray McNaughton. Later in life, Norma would marry Lawrence Lister. Their union brought two more beloved daughters into the world: Cindy Large and Brenda Kirkwood.
Norma spent much of her working life in service to others and her community, holding positions at Southwestern Bell, Hallmark Cards, and Alco. Outside of work, she was happiest outdoors riding her bicycle, tending to her yard, and soaking up the sunshine. She was a gifted and dedicated seamstress and quilter, pouring her creativity and patience into every stitch. In quieter moments, she loved settling in with a good book or word search puzzle. Norma was always willing to lend a helping hand to her children and grandchildren, never too busy to offer her time or support when they needed her.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Lister; her sisters, Kathleen Graves and Barbara Kristoff; and her grandson, Jason McNaughton.
She is survived by her children, Sandra Clear (Randy), Alvin Ray McNaughton, Cindy Large (Jeff), and Brenda Kirkwood (Kasey); her sisters, Louise Oliver and Glenna Maxey (Edward); her 12 grandchildren; and her 9 great-grandchildren.
Norma's life was one of love, hard work, and simple joys, time spent outside, hands busy with a needle and thread, and family always close by. She never really sat still, always finding something to do or someone to help. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
