Melvin A. "Butch" Timmons

Melvin Arthur “Butch” Timmons III, 66, of Topeka passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.  He was born September 25, 1957 at Topeka the son of Melvin A. Timmons, Jr. and Barbara Ann Self Timmons.  He was raised in Topeka and attended Topeka schools.   Butch loved the Lord.  He was a member of Indiana Ave. Church of Christ.  He enjoyed video games, collecting Hot Wheels (57 Chevy’s), and loved his Harley.

He was married to Penny Lee Showalter on October 17, 1997 at Topeka.  Penny survives at their home in Topeka

Other survivors include his children, April Dawn Timmons of Ottawa, Abram Nathanael Timmons of Topeka, Joseph Eleazar Timmons of Ottawa, Rebecca Lynn Parker of Topeka, Joye Elizabeth Timmons of the home and Hope Ariel Timmons also of the home in Topeka; siblings, Bunnie Sue Reich (Mark) of Montrose, MN, Kurt Leroy Timmons (Lisa) of Mound, MN, Mitchell Lee Timmons of Sacramento, CA, Randall Eugene McConnell (Christy) of Louisburg, Kansas, Samuel Allen Timmons (Denise) of Brooklyn Center, MN and Tina Longenecker (Brent) of Topeka; grandchildren, Isaac, Isaiah, Meghan, Marcellus and Mariah.

He was preceded in death by his son Melvin Arthur Timmons IV who passed away in 1999, his first wife, Jeanene Dee Ross Timmons, and his parents Melvin Timmons, Jr. and Barbara Timmons.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Monday evening, December 18th at Davidson Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at the funeral home.  Graveside services will follow at Rochester Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society.  To view Butch's funeral live, please click here
