Mary E. (Morehouse) Rees

May 28th, 1928-August 24th, 2025

Mary 97, and her twin sister Rose were born on May 28th, 1928 in Abilene, Ks. Mary was raised on a farm and use to farm life which installed a positive life outlook. Mary graduated from Dickinson Community High School in 1946. Mary taught one year in the Dickinson School District.

 She married Harry M. Rees on June 13th, 1949. They were raised a few miles apart around Manchester. By December 1949 they had moved to Topeka, Ks. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and attended many years at the Cheyenne Days Rodeo. Harry passed in 2015. 

Harry and Mary spent sixty six years together. She is survived by her sons Wayne and Riley (Debbie) Rees, her five grandchildren, Adam (Tina), Katie Rees, Erin Collier (Clint), Austin (Sarah), eight great grandchildren, Addison, Piper, Darron, Easton, Cora, Harrison, David, Savannah, her twin sister Rose Turnbull. Mom was so busy making a house a home. We don't know how she found time for temporary employment at SBL and Josten's. She was predceased by her loving husband Harry, sister Reva Smith, daughter in law Valerie.

A celebration of Life is planned for October 11th at 10:00am at the Auburn Community Center, 121 W 11th St. Lunch will be provided. Internment will follow at the Auburn Cemetery.
