Marjorie “Jeanne” Fountain, 91, of Topeka passed away on Thanksgiving day, November 24, 2022. She was born on February 14, 1931 in Topeka. She met Leo "Son" Fountain on a blind date at Gage Park. They married on June 25, 1950 in Topeka. They later renewed their vows on June 24, 2000 at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas. Jeanne and Son lived in California many years. She worked in service in the public school system in the San Fernando Valley before retiring in May of 1990. After retiring, they lived in both California and Topeka for several years before moving back to Topeka full time.
Jeanne loved the beach in California. She also crocheted many afghans while attending Dodger baseball games. She and Son had season tickets to the Dodgers for many years. Upon returning to Topeka, she attended Oakland Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Son; daughter, Pamela Sue Fountain; twin sister, Marilyn “Joanne” Landis; brother in law, Keith Landis; her brother, Jack Newman in Oregon; brother in law Chuck Fountain; and sister in law Jean Rhea.
Sister in laws, Gloria Fountain, Sissy Fountain and brother in law Jim Rhea surviving. Numerous nieces and nephews survive including, Lori Hogan of Topeka and Jeffrey Landis and wife Cara of Topeka. Also great nieces and nephews.
