Marilyn Kay Colhouer, 86, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2026.

She was born July 6, 1939, in Frankfort, Kansas, the daughter of Gwilym and Abbevilla (Morton) Williams. She was a graduate of Irving High School, Irving, KS.

Marilyn was Network Manager for Bell Telephone Company in Topeka for 27 years until retiring in 1991.

She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Topeka and a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

Marilyn married the love of her life, Darrell Ray Colhouer in Frankfort, KS, on November 27, 1959. He preceded her in death on September 7, 2017. Survivors include two sons, Kevin (Becky) Colhouer and Brent (Stacy) Colhouer all of Topeka. She leaves five grandchildren: Melissa (Jeremy) Carter, Ashley Colhouer, Lance Colhouer, Kolton Colhouer and Kaylon Colhouer; and three great-grandsons: Mason, Nixon and Cohen Carter.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Marilyn and Darrell loved to travel, have visited all states, been on several cruises, have been overseas, loved the mountains and spent several summers camping and riding trails in Colorado and Utah. A couple of winters were spent in Texas. She also enjoyed NASCAR racing, attending several races in many cities and was an avid KU Jayhawk Fan.

Honoring her request, cremation is planned. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until the celebration of her life beginning at 5:00 p.m., Friday, May 1, 2026, at the Parker-Price & Davidson, Funerals and Receptions, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS. Private family inurnment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Ascend Hospice, 2835 SW Mission Road, Topeka, KS 66614.
