Marcia Harvey

Marcia Harvey, 80, of Topeka, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21st. 2026, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her children. She was born April 23, 1946, in Topeka, the daughter of Alfred R. and Ellen Lucille Myers Murray. Marcia worked as a Supervisor for the Shawnee County Limited Actions Division before retiring.

She married Gerald (Jerry) Dean Harvey Sr. on September 2, 1962. She was only 16 at the time, with Jerry being 17. Their marriage was a true and inspiring love story—one that remained unbreakable and continued even beyond the loss of her lifetime love, Jerry, in 2011.

She is survived by three children: Gerald Harvey, Jr. (Dina Garcia) of Meriden; Todd Harvey of Meriden; Marcy Schreiner and husband, Troy, of Topeka; and her brother, Gary (Sherry) Murray. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 15 great‑grandchildren. We cannot begin to count the many other treasured grandchildren and great‑grandchildren who lovingly called her Grandma or Great‑Grandma. There was endless love for all who were blessed with her presence.

Marcia was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald (Jerry) Harvey Sr. Her son, Carl Harvey, her grandson, Dylan Harvey, her parents, Alfred Robert and Ellen Lucille (Myers) Murray; and her siblings: Roy Murray, Marlene Case, Frankie Murray, and Marvin “Curly” Murray.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 28th, at Parker Price & Davidson, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, KS 66608. Funeral services will follow the visitation, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Parker Price. On Saturday, June 6th, a graveside inurnment will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Half Day Cemetery in Elmont, where Marcia and her husband, Jerry, will be reunited as their ashes are laid to rest together. Following the graveside service, a Celebration of Life for Marcia will be held at “The Shop” in Meriden.
