Lola Hess

Lola B. Hess, 92, of Topeka, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2026. She was born September 30, 1933, near Saffordville, Kansas, the daughter of George F. and Marie (Davis) Irey. She attended college in Texas before returning to the Midwest.

Lola married the love of her life, Glen R. Hess, on May 26, 1957. Together they shared 63 beautiful years of marriage until Glen’s passing in June 2020.

A dedicated homemaker, Lola poured her heart into raising her two daughters and later cherished her role as a devoted grandmother. She was also preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Julie Hess, in 2019.

Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Babin (Bruce); five beloved grandchildren, Josh Perez, Alyssa Bauer, Sam Bauer, Jordan Moody (Sebastian), and Jessica Perez; and two adored great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Lola will be held on 4:00 pm Friday, May 22, 2026, at Parker-Price and Davidson Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, KS 66608.  A private inurnment will take place at Barkley Cemetery in Madison, Kansas.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice or to Meals on Wheels.
