Linda Sue Loveall

Linda Sue Loveall, age 82, of Meriden, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at her son’s home in Meriden.  Linda was born January 2, 1940 in Seneca, KS the daughter of Leonard and Mary (Olberding) Grollmes.  The family moved to Laramie, Wyoming where her father was a fireman for the Union Pacific Railroad.  In 1946, the family returned to Seneca where they managed the Gilford Hotel for three years.  Later they built and ran the Linda Motel.  It was here that Linda learned how to work with the public, thus benefiting her the rest of her life.  She graduated from St. Peter and Paul Catholic High School in 1957.  After high school, she attended Emporia State College, Kansas University and then Colorado University.  On June 27, 1964, she married Alvie L. Loveall, Jr. of Wetmore, KS.  They later divorced.  Linda worked for City National Bank & Trust in Kansas City, MO and Southwestern Bell Telephone as a service representative.   She was a member of the Topeka Mustang Club and Telephone Pioneers.  She served as a 4H leader of Maple Hill Hustlers.  Linda enjoyed traveling.  Her favorite place to visit was Dublin, Kearney and Lubbock, Ireland.  She also enjoyed reading and knitting.  Her favorite holiday was Christmas.

Linda is survived by her son, Alvie (Teresa Ponte) Loveall III of Meriden; a daughter, Cynthia Loveall of Auburn, KS; a brother, Jim (Betty) Grollmes of Perry, KS and a stepgranddaughter, Ellen Doty.
