Leonard O, Rucker

Leonard (Lee) O . Rucker, Jr, 70, of Topeka, passed away Friday, August 4, 2023.

He was born June 22, 1953 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Leonard and Dorothy (Sims) Rucker, Sr. He was a graduate of A.P. Leto High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1971 through 1977.

Mr. Rucker had a lifelong career in construction and carpentry.

Lee is survivored by his wife, Joann Rucker; Four children, Shannon Larson and husband Chad of Texas, Heather James and husband Toby of Oklahoma, Patrick Rucker and wife Caitie of Kansas and Torri Bream and husband Travis of Kansas; Ten grandchildren, Braunwyn Hawkins, Jacob Larson, Trey James, Reyann James, Ty James, Tate James, Tatum Rucker, Abel Bream, Luke Rucker and Charlotte Bream; And six great grandchildren, Adam Larson, Brinley Hawkins, Keaton Hawkins, Laine Larson, Paisley Larson and Amara James. And siblings, Linda Franzen of Colorado, Carolynn Seals of New York, Stephanie Harrell of West Virginia, Stephen Rucker of Kansas, and Kevin Rucker, residence unknown; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Rucker Sr. and Dorothy Rucker.

A private family viewing was held August 8, 2023.
