Kent L. Frederick, age 66 of the Oakland area of Topeka, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at Stormont Vail Hospital. Kent was born October 10, 1951 in Keats, Kansas the son of Leslie and Ruth Steinmeyer Frederick. He graduated from Topeka High in 1969. Kent went to work at the age 19 at Mike’s IGA in Oakland and would later manage the store. He married Linda Long September 6, 1980 in Topeka. She passed away January 20, 2015. He is survived by three sons, Scott (Karen Reed-Coffman) Coffman, Troy Ingram and Gary (Quincie) Ingram; two daughters, Lisa (Jennifer Terry) Ingram and Sarah (Robert) Miller; two brothers, Mike Frederick and Kevin (Leigh) Frederick; two sisters, Susan (Gene) Anderson and Sara (Steve) Dowty; nine grandchildren, Kaila, Kayla, Jason, Chelsea, Michael L., Raelexis, Samantha, Michael J. and Elijah and two great grandchildren, Stephanie and Maddie. Kent loved the people of the Oakland Community and they loved him. One of his greatest joys was delivering groceries and interacting with the people of the Oakland community. He will be greatly missed.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Keene Cemetery. He will lie in state Tuesday from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. with visitation from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Rescue Mission and left in care of the Davidson Funeral Home. davidsonfuneral.com.
