Kenneth W. Burkhart

Kenneth W. Burkhart, age 85, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.  Ken was born March 16, 1935 in Mooreland, Oklahoma the son of Leonard and Shirley (Hand) Burkhart.  Ken graduated from Pierce City High School in Missouri.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 – 1960.

He married Cherie Jeanneret February 25, 1988.  Ken worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Topeka for over 37 years.  Ken was an active member of the Central Church of Christ in Topeka.  He volunteered at the Tallgrass Christian Camp.  Ken enjoyed fishing and puzzles.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Burkhart and a grandson, Ricky Padgitt.

He is survived by his wife, Cherie Burkhart of Topeka; three daughters, April (Chad) Albiar of California, Glenda (Daryl) Penry of Meriden and Brenda (Leslie) Parrish of Yuma, Arizona; a son, Toby (Deanne) Mills of Overland Park, KS; a brother, Leslie Burkhart of Oregon; two sisters, Shirley Owens of San Antonio, TX and Carol Kirby of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Memorial services are pending at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Church of Christ or Tallgrass Christian Camp and left in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.   davidsonfuneral.com
