Kelly Kristine Davis, 51, passed away on Tuesday June 24, 2025. Kelly was born October 21, 1973 in Topeka, KS. She attended West Indianola Grade School and graduated from Seaman High School. From a young age, Kelly loved animals of all kinds. She was quick to rescue a stray or injured cat. Kelly also had an affection for horses. She loved her three horses growing up and went on to be a trainer. Her compassion for animals naturally called her to seek a career as a vet-tech. She cared for animal patients for 8 years at clinics in Topeka and Ft Worth, TX. She was always available for any urgent calls from friends, family and clients regarding their furry family members. She of course had several of her own cats and dogs whom she loved dearly.
Kelly was fascinated with cooking and was excited to try her hand at new cuisine. She and her Mom would often go shopping together and search for new ingredients to try. Kelly also had a great admiration for her dad and brother, Bryan, who work in the construction field. She would work with them and tackle DIY projects. Boy, was she handy with a hammer.
Kelly met and married Don C Davis on July 10, 1999 in Topeka. They had such a beautiful love story. Kelly was such a rock for Don. She had strength and determination even with her long struggle with diabetes. Don and Kelly enjoyed traveling and spending time together in nature. Kelly dearly loved Don’s sons Quentin and Nate and their grandchildren.
Kelly was so vibrant and easy to befriend. Our family has lost a bright light. We know that Kelly is surrounded by the brilliance of everlasting life with Jesus. We celebrate that she is with the Lord and her grandparents.
Kelly is survived by her husband Don C. Davis of Topeka; her parents Jerry and Anarene Hedstrom of Topeka; step-sons, Quentin Davis of Kansas City and Nathaniel (Brandy) Davis of Lebanon, Missouri and her brother, Bryan Hedstrom (Emelia) of Topeka.
Cremation with a memorial service at a later date, is planned.
