Keith Hildebrandt

December 25, 1931 — July 12, 2025

Topeka

Keith Hildebrandt, passed away on July 12, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on December 25, 1931, in Washington, Kansas, Keith's life was marked by laughter, dedication, and an enduring love for the simple joys of life.

Keith dedicated many years of his career to Josten's, where he exemplified commitment and integrity until his retirement. His time there, enriched by a funny sense of humor, allowed him to forge connections with colleagues and friends alike, often making memorable comments that brightened the days of those around him. Outside of work he spent most of his time on the ranch working cattle.

A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Keith served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged, embodying the values of courage and sacrifice that he carried with him throughout his life. His military service was a point of pride for him and a testament to his character.

Among his many interests, Keith had a deep affection for anything cowboy-related. He enjoyed working with his hands, refurbishing old John Deere tractors, a hobby that connected him to the land he cherished. His love for music was evident in his extensive collection of old-time record albums, boasting over a thousand, and his fondness for dancing at the VFW, where he created joyful memories with friends.

Keith was an enthusiastic garage sale explorer, often delighting in discovering unique items that spoke to his appreciation for the past. Above all, he reveled in the beauty of the countryside, finding peace in the vast pastures that surrounded him. He had a particular liking for beer—whatever was on sale—and found joy in the small pleasures of everyday life.

Keith is survived by his son, Scott (Lynda) Hildebrandt; his grandchildren, Patrick (Nicole) Hildebrandt and Paige (Ray) Kyle; and his great-grandchild, Olivia Hildebrandt. He is also remembered by his brother, Royce (Pat) Hildebrandt; step-children Patsy Heard, Danny McIntosh, William McIntosh, and Randy McIntosh; and his special companion, Joanne Lacey.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Hildebrandt; his mother, Edna (Tegethoff) Hildebrandt; his son, Bruce Hildebrandt; his sister, LaVaughn Creech; as well as his first wife, JoAnn Hildebrandt, and his second wife, Lela Hildebrandt.

Keith Hildebrandt's legacy will continue to be felt by all who were fortunate to know him. His humor, love for life, and dedication to family will be cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of many.
