Kay Wienck, 86, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
She was born July 23, 1939, on the Talbot Family Farm near Marysville, Kansas, the daughter of Sylvis and Roberta (Farrar) Talbot. Kay was proud of her farming heritage. She graduated from Marysville High School in 1957.
Kay married Charles Howard Wienck on December 29, 1962 in Miami, OK. They welcomed four children to their marriage, Lori, Todd, Tammy and Traci. Kay was a homemaker and loved being able to stay home and raise her children through the years.
In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and created beautiful silk floral arrangements for special occasions. Kay was an excellent cook, but especially made the best chocolate cake. She had a special talent with sewing and quilting. She was a wonderful seamstress. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by husband, Charles Howard Wienck; her children, Lori Ray, Todd (Stacey) Wienck, Tammy (Larry) Swaim and Traci (Josh) Hards; her beloved grandchildren, Chad (Chelsea) Ray, Caitlin (Ethan Muse) Wienck, Brecken (Aaron) Stadler, Chase Ray, Ashley Swaim, Dawson Wienck, Colton Swaim and Beckett Hards; her great grandchildren, Reagan Ray, Nolan Ray and Zadie Stadler; her siblings, Sylvia Gay (Dale Redmond) Snider and May Gose. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Judy Calloway and Robert Earl Talbot.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am., Friday, July 3, 2026 at the Parker-Price & Davidson Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 245 N.W. Independence Avenue, Topeka. Her family will greet friends and relatives one hour prior to the service. Kay will be laid to rest at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 440 Clayton Ave, St. Louis, MO 63110 or to the Ronald McDonald House of NE Kansas, 825 SW Buchanan St, Topeka, KS 66606.
