Karen A. Shenck, age 78, of Topeka, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 at her home in Topeka. Karen was born August 16, 1943 in Holton, KS the daughter of Chester and Evelyn (Hodge) Epling. She graduated from Seaman High School with the class of 1961. She married Burgin D. Shenck March 11, 1962 in Topeka. He preceded her in death May 3, 2016. Karen was a member of the Seaman Baptist Church. She worked for American Book Bindery, delivered phone books and was a scorekeeper for the City of Topeka softball games.
Karen is survived by a son, Dan Shenck of Topeka; two daughters, Kimberly (Bill) Busby of Queen Creek, AZ and Teresa (James Dittmer) Shenck of Topeka; two sisters, Diana (Ken) Cowing of Topeka and Shirley (Gary) Krallman of Topeka; a sister-in-law, Zona Landis of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Joshua (Lee), Leighanna, Kristina (Tyler); and a great grandson, Colton.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. She will lie in state Friday from noon – 7:00 p.m. with visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Circleville Cemetery.
