Karen A. Foust

Karen A. Foust, 84, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025 in Sterling, Colorado. She was born August 17, 1941 the daughter of Edward G. and Bonna Mae (Barnes) Hinz at Horton, Kansas. As a small child she lived with her family at Powhattan before moving to Hiawatha. She attended grade school and high school at Hiawatha, graduating with the class of 1959. Karen lived in Hiawatha until moving to Topeka after her husband passed to be close to her family. She enjoyed playing the piano, singing her favorite hymns, was a very good cook and visiting with her sister Shirley on the phone as often as possible. Her family was very important to her and she loved spending time with them, often going to her grandchildren’s band concerts after moving to Topeka.

She was married to William Foust on January 30, 1960 at the United Methodist Church in Hiawatha. William passed away in 2012.

She is survived by her children, Michelle Thomas of Sterling, Colorado, Mitchel Foust of Topeka and Marla Hahn and her husband Matt of Topeka; her sister, Shirley Foust of St. Louis, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm on Saturday December 20, 2025, prior to the funeral service which will be held at 2:00 pm at Parker-Price and Davidson Cremations and Funeral Services, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, Kansas 66608. Interment will follow at 4:00 pm on Saturday at the Powhattan Cemetery, Powhattan, Kansas.
