June Marie Blush passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026 at the age of 95 at Home of the Flint Hills in Silver Lake, KS. June was born on July 5, 1931 in Mayetta, KS to Paul and Mabel (Baker) Snavely. The family moved to Silver Lake, KS when June was 9 months old and she remained a resident of Silver Lake all her life. She graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1949. She began working for the Kansas Inspection Bureau, an insurance rating company, and attending Clarks Business School, directly out of high school. She married George Howard Blush on February 14, 1954. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage before George died in 2006.
June was a homemaker, raising her 2 children on the farm until 1968 when she returned to the work force as secretary & bookkeeper for Wilcox Trailer Sales in Topeka, Ks, and then for the Silver Lake Bank and Fidelity Bank in Topeka, where she retired as a Vice President in 1996.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Silver Lake and served as Sunday School teacher, pianist and organist for many years. June’s secretarial and organizational skills served her well as she worked on various community and volunteer groups throughout her later years.
June was preceded in death by her husband, George, her parents; brother Ralph Snavely; and one grandson Matthew Runyan.
June is survived by her children, George (Laurie) Blush and Susan (Rob) Runyan both of Silver Lake; 4 grandchildren: Amanda (Adam) Beason, Wamego, KS; Aaron (Michelle) Blush, Olathe, KS; Austin (Jessica) Blush, Silver Lake and Autumn Runyan, Silver Lake.; and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, August 17, 2026 at First Baptist Church, 3439 NW Hoch Rd. Silver Lake, KS. Her family will greet friends and relatives one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest at Silver Lake Cemetery following the service.
Memorial contributions may be made in June’s name to First Baptist Church in Silver Lake.
