Judy Ann Lawson, born March 2, 1948, suddenly left this realm on February 18, 2022 to join her parents Lloyd and Rovene (Seaman) Lawson, three brothers, Don, Ronnie, and Darrel, and a nephew, Mark Lawson.
Judy is survived by a brother, Jack Callison; two sisters, Sharon (Gary) Hurley and Marla Bailey; 13 nieces and nephews; and extended family and friends.
Judy spent most of her adult life working in the postal service, starting in Chicago, moving upward through several Midwest locations, before settling in Topeka, Kansas for the past 36 years or so.
During the seventies, Judy raced stock cars. She set aside that hobby after placing 7 th of 100 drivers in a Kansas City race as the only female driver. For a time, she took up wood carving and produced many beautiful pieces of art. However, her deepest passion was animal rescue, in particular, Yorkies. She spent many years fostering, placing and transporting countless canines and a few cats.
Judy’s lively eyes, hearty laugh and ornery, mischievous nature will be remembered and missed by her family and friends.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be scheduled in Missouri at a later date.
