Jody Edward Thomas

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jody Edward Thomas, of Topeka, Sunday, May 31, 2026. His kindness, humor and love touched the lives of many and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him.

He was born June 13, 1974, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Edward and Betty (Daugherty) Thomas. He attended Topeka High School.

Jody was employed as a machinist/electrician until his health declined.

He is survived by his children, Casey Thomas, Luke Shoemaker, Jaugger (Ashley) Thomas; grandchildren, Alexis, Jace, and George; mother, Betty Davin; step-mother, Diane Thomas; siblings, Joleen (Jay) Rector, Roger (Wanda) Davin, Tom (Robin) Davin, Pam (George) Kirkwood, Gayle (Jeff) Hutsell, Darren Hoover, and Tracci Hoover; many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Thomas; step-father, Larry Davin, and grandparents.

Jody was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed water skiing, fishing, hiking and motorcycles. He enjoyed many family trips to Table Rock.

A Celebration of Life will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 8, 2026 at Parker Price & Davidson, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Topeka. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 a.m.
