Joann C. Shoulders

JoAnn C. Shoulders of Carson Topeka, 81 of Topeka joined her parents in Heaven on May 29, 2018.   She was the eldest daughter of Julia Gatewood and Wilbert Carson.  She was born on May 31, 1936 at Council Grove, Kansas.  JoAnn was raised at Burlingame, Kansas and graduated from high school there in 1955.  She worked at Ray Beers as a tailor, then retired from Scotch Fabric Care after 20 years.

She was married to Jack Shoulders and had eight children; Cindy Shoulders, Debbie Cruz, Penny Shoulders, Jack Shoulders, Jr. Darryl Shoulders, Todd Shoulders and Sheri Brown and Wyatt Shoulders.   She had 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; Also surviving her are her sister, Jean Owens of Topeka; and surviving brother, Donald Carson of Quenemo.

She is preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Ruth and Judy Carson; five brothers, Wilbert Carson, Jr., Oren, Kenneth, Wayne and Randy Carson; three sons, Jack Shoulders, Jr., Darryl, and Todd; a grandchild, Genevieve Elidazalde, two great-grandchildren, Darryl Shoulders, Jr and Jordan Jarrar.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Davidson Funeral Home. Burial will follow services in Topeka Cemetery.
