JoAnn Frost, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, in her hometown of Topeka, Kansas, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 12, 1937, JoAnn's life was dedicated to her family and her work for the State of Kansas, where she skillfully served as a bookkeeper, accounting professional, and office assistant for 41 years.
A graduate of Topeka High School and Clark School of Business, JoAnn was known for her reserved and private personality, often preferring to listen rather than speak of herself. Yet, her warmth and kindness shone through in every interaction. JoAnn had a profound love for nature; she found joy in her flower garden and often spent hours bird watching. She delighted in reading books and completing puzzles. Her evenings were often reserved for game shows, with "Wheel of Fortune" being a particular favorite. A devoted sports fan, she proudly cheered for the KC Chiefs and enjoyed watching Royals baseball.
Travel was a passion for JoAnn; she took pleasure in day trips, often indulging in quaint breakfasts or lunches. Her adventures included memorable journeys to the Elmont Opry, Hawaii, Wisconsin, Colorado, and the scenic Dogwood Canyon in Missouri. Whether it was cooking for family gatherings or admiring the accomplishments of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, JoAnn's life was filled with love and cherished moments.
JoAnn's legacy endures through her beloved survivors, including her daughters Lisa (Mike) McKinley, Cindy (Jim) Langton, and Jodi (Robert) Child. She was a proud grandmother to Lindsay (Jim) Seichepine, Heather (Kory) Josefiak, Tyler (Hayley) Langton, Ryan (Kelsey) Langton, Dillon Child, and Lacey Child. Her heart swelled with joy in the company of her great-grandchildren, Blayke Seichepine, Currie Jo Seichepine, Nicole Seichepine, Cooper Josefiak, Tate Josefiak, Wyatt Josefiak, Brody Langton, Colby Langton, and Lucas Langton, and her newest grandson, Theo Langton.
JoAnn married Kenneth Frost on December 14, 1958. JoAnn and Ken began raising their family in the Oakland neighborhood in Topeka, where they attended Oakland Methodist Church. In 1972 they moved to Perry and built a home on property they loved. After retiring, they returned to Topeka where they attended Bethel Baptist Church. JoAnn was predeceased by her devoted husband Ken. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Myrrl and Marie McMaster, and her sister, Bonnie Johnson.
JoAnn's family invites everyone who knew her to join in honoring her life during the visitation and funeral service to be held on April 12, 2025, at Parker-Price & Davidson in Topeka, Kansas.
