Jesse W. Jones, age 46, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at his home in Topeka. Jesse was born November 3, 1975 in Topeka the son of John Wayne and Janet Lynn (Henderson) Jones-Gast. Jesse attended Topeka public schools, graduating from Topeka High School. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and step-father, Jimmy Dale Gast. Jesse married Tricia Mayfield August 9, 2008 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include four sons, Jordan Mayfield, Jonathan Stewart, Tyson Mayfield and Isaiah Jones, all of Topeka; a daughter, Chloe (Koby Sr.) Posey of Topeka and a grandson, Koby Posey Jr.; sister-in-law, Angela (Jerry) Jenkins of Carbondale; brother-in-law, Brian (Jodie) Mayfield of Topeka; grandfather-in-law, Reverend Max Manning; father & mother-in-law, Russell and Cheryl Mayfield of Carbondale along with 16 nieces and nephews; six great nieces and nephews and too many friends and family to count.
Jesse was a member of the Carbondale Cornerstone Church. He was a mechanic, and able to fix many things. He was also a storyteller that would sometimes stretch the truth and even reality at times and he enjoyed captivating the minds and times of whoever would receive his tales. He was very animated when he got excited or entertained and always when telling a story. He was always eager to help others. He will be dearly missed. By all who knew him and loved him.
