Jerry Thomas

Jerry was born Feb. 8, 1940, to Dee Thomas and Ouida Walling Thomas in Talihina Oklahoma. He later moved to Marlow, Oklahoma with his mother and step-father, Alvin Lee, when he was in school. He met Deanna Roberts from Rush Springs Oklahoma in 1957 while both were still in high school. After they both graduated, he in 1958 and she in 1959 they were married on December 20, 1959. Jerry worked for a year in the Oklahoma oil fields before going to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone in 1959, retiring in 1992 under AT&T.

As an avid lover of Corvettes, he had many over the years. He and Deanna made a lot of Corvette trips all over the country, Route 66, Washington DC, Colorado and lots of other places. At 65 years of age Jerry purchased his first Harley motorcycle, an old Shovel Head, in a pawn shop and a new passion was born. He had several Harleys for a few years and he and Deanna made several trips to Colorado, Arizona, Utah and even Sturges S.D. He was also a member of Abate of Kansas, District 5.

Jerry was a 8+ year member of the Oklahoma Army National Guard and was also a 60+ year member of the Masonic Lodge , Perry, Kansas, 40 year member of the Arab Shrine and a member of Northland Christian Church, Topeka, Kansas.

Jerry went peacefully home to be with the Lord on December 2, 2025.

He is survived by his wife Deanna, just missing their sixty six anniversary December 20th, a son David (Terryann) Thomas, daughter Valerie Thomas, Topeka, Kansas, and son, Bryan (Natalie) Thomas, Tampa, Florida, a half brother, Richard (Karen) Thomas, Mead, Oklahoma

Six Grandchildren
Six Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces nephews.

There will be a private inurnment at Rochester Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas and a Celebration of Life will be live held at a later date.
