Jenny Scheibe, born on October 31, 1972, in Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home in Topeka, Kansas, on Monday, January 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Her life was a testament of strength, love and protecting those close to her.
A graduate of Seaman High School, class of 1991. Jenny devoted her professional career to caring for others. As a daycare provider at her home, she created a nurturing environment for not just her own children but also for her nieces, nephews, and the children of family friends. Her compassion extended beyond the walls of her home; she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Holton and Topeka, and later worked as a Medical Assistant at Stormont-Vail Orthopedics. In every role, Jenny's warmth and selflessness shone through, leaving lasting impressions on all those she interacted with.
Jenny was known for her friendly and caring personality and her wonderful sense of humor. She had an innate ability to bring people together, hosting family gatherings, holiday celebrations, and significant events at her home that became treasured memories for all who attended. Her home was always filled with candles and flowers, embodying her love for seasonal decorating, Halloween being her favorite.
Jenny found immense joy in spending time with her grandson, Rylan. She enjoyed being outdoors, soaking up the sun, and every opportunity to travel, especially to the beach. She was often found enjoying a day at the casino, living life to the fullest with her spirited enthusiasm.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Scott Scheibe, married on January 13, 2023, her beloved children, Justus (Bailey) Sharples and Alexis Sharples (Daniel Pierre); and her grandson, Rylan Sharples. She is also remembered by her siblings, Johnny (Lori) Rea, Stacy (Vince) Berry, Ty (Jerry) Gentry, and CJ Martin, as well as sister-in-law Sandy Rea, and numerous nieces and nephews who were touched by her unconditional love.
Jenny was preceded in death by her grandmother, Roberta Freed; her mother, Diana (Freed) Martin; and her brother, Ricky Rea.
Though she is no longer with us, her spirit and the memories she created will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Jenny's remarkable life during a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, followed by a funeral service the next day, Saturday, January 17, at 10:00 a.m. both at Parker-Price & Davidson, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, KS 66608. Burial to immediately follow at Rochester Cemetery in Topeka.
As we remember Jenny, we hold onto her legacy of love, laughter, and immense compassion. May we all aspire to embody her selflessness and devotion to family, taking comfort in the beautiful memories she gifted us all.
