Jeff Scott Souders, born on January 2, 1970, in Columbus, Ohio, went to be with Jesus on January 8, 2026. He was a beloved son of Encile and Barbara Souders, both of whom have passed on. Jeff was part of a large family with eight sisters and three brothers. His siblings include Betty Hansford (married to Jerry) from Topeka, Barbara Jean Partee from Texas, Debbie Eggert from Wisconsin, Ed Souders from Wisonsin, Sharon Byers from Michigan, Mary Lou Baines, Nancy Simmons, Cheryl Arno (married to Dave) from Kansas City, and Edward Souders from Topeka, as well as Carol Knernschield (married to Shawn) from Topeka. His brother Benjamin Stewart has also passed away, as has his niece Angel, both of whom held a special place in Jeff's heart.
Jeff enjoyed joking around, bowling, playing cards with family and he was a devoted Kansas City Chiefs' fan. He enjoyed eating and in fact there wasn’t a single food he wouldn’t eat. Above all, Jeff cherished spending time with family and friends. He had a warm personality that allowed him to connect with everyone he met; he truly never met a stranger.
He especially missed loved ones that had passed before him, his father, his mother, his brother Benny and his niece Angel were all dear to his heart. We rejoice knowing that he is free of the physical limitations he had here on Earth and that he is finally walking and running and playing cards with them.
He will be horribly missed. We will miss his mischievous grin, his orneriness and we will grieve because of our loss of companionship with him, but we are so very happy for him and his newfound freedom with Jesus Christ.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at Parker-Price & Davidson, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, KS. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service.
He will be laid to rest next to his parents at Rochester Cemetery in Topeka.
