Janet Pearson

April 1, 1941 — March 25, 2025

Manhattan, Kansas

Janet "Mama Jan" Pearson of Manhattan, passed away on March 25, 2025 at Meadowlark Hills.

Born in Holten to Robert and Marjorie Hamilton on April 1, 1941, she perpetuated their legacy of love to all. After her marriage to Larry Pearson she lived in Manhattan holding a variety of positions in which, it is said, she gave more than received. She epitomized the phrase "There are no strangers here, only friends you haven't met." Stories abound of her generosity, genuine interest in others, and being just plain neighborly. Possessing the Happy Ass gene, she was known for her lightheartedness, and laughter. She was indeed a wonderful example of how to love others, and will be greatly missed.

Jan is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry and son Lex. She is survived by her sister Carol Gebhart, daugher-in-law Pattie Pearson, grandsons John Pearson, and Taylor Pearson, his wife Erin and their daughter Katherine.

A funeral Mass will be held for Jan at St. Isidores on May 8th at 1pm with refreshments to follow. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607-3000.
