Jim Knoll passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, with his family by his side and surrounded by love.
Jim is survived by his wife of 62 years, Catherine. He was the proud father of five children: Duane (Janet), Brad (Michele), Barbara (John), Jason (Kristy) and Tammy (Jimmie). He was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Velma Lesser and sister, Cherie.
Jim treasured time spent with family. From camping trips and fishing to simple evenings sharing stories and laughter. He also enjoyed being around horses and bike riding.
Jim joined the Navy at 17 and was honorably discharged in 1962.
Jim worked in several occupations throughout his life, including butcher, farrier, and truck driver, before retiring from KNI as a boiler operator.
Jim will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
A gathering to celebrate Jim’s life will be held on June 1, 2026, at Parker Price & Davidson Reception Center, 1940 NW Central Avenue, Topeka, Kansas 66608, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Light refreshments will be served.
A private family burial will occur at a later date.
