Gerald Ray Newell

Gerald Ray Newell, 91, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2026.

He was born December 19, 1934, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Paul and Myrtle (Suddarth) Newell. Jerry graduated from Seaman High School 1952. He dedicated over 40 years to the Santa Fe Railroad in multiple areas, but finished his career as an Accounting Manager in 1992. He served in the Kansas Army National Guard from February 1953 to October 1961.

Jerry married Wilma Jean Koch on March 21, 1954. She preceded him in passing on May 23, 1995. He later married Margaret Ann Siple on March 17, 1997.

He leaves behind his wife, Margaret Newell; daughter, Karla Means; step children, Pamela (Don) Logan and Scott (Amy) Siple; grandchildren, Lane (Erinn) Grist, Jessica (Easton) Weems, Dayne (Staci) Shelman, Daylee (AJ) Burenheide, Dawson (Madi) Logan, Dayton Logan, Nathan (Jamie) Siple and Rachel Siple; great grandchildren, Maddyn and Grady Grist, Cal Weems, Bryce, Wyatt and Tyson Shelman and Cal, Crew, Charlie, George and Bode Siple; one brother, Donald Newell. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wayne Newell.

A Funeral Ceremony will be 11:00 am., Thursday, September 3, 2026 at the Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church, 7433 SW 29th St, Topeka. His family will greet friends and relatives on hour prior to the service.
