Gary Lee Parnell

Gary Lee Parnell, 62, passed away on April 26, 2020 at a Topeka hospital.  Gary was born August 1, 1957, in Topeka the son of Galen and Catherine (Noll) Parnell.  Gary grew up in Topeka and attended Hayden High School, graduating in 1975.   He worked at Hallmark Cards for over 33 years and retired in 2007.  As a hardworking man, he decided to go back to work at Midland Hospice Care and for Meals on Wheels.  Gary was loved by many no matter where he worked, and always cared for those he called friends.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.  Gary is survived by his wife of 28 years Janice (Ames) Parnell; two sons, Matthew Parnell, and Jimmy Smith; a daughter Jennifer Smith; grandchildren, Avery Smith, Carter Smith, Greyson Martinez, and Jaxon Martinez; and a brother, Mike Parnell.

Gary will lie in state Monday, April 27, 2020 at the Davidson Funeral Home.  Cremation will follow and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Davidson Funeral Home is assisting the family with services. davidsonfuneral.com
