Gary F. Holmes

Gary F. Holmes, 69, of Topeka passed away on Friday, August 2, 2019.   He was born January 13, 1950 in Topeka the son of Alvin F. and Maxine M. Holmes.   He lived most of his life in Topeka.   Gary was a jack of all trades.   He knew many people and never met a stranger.   He enjoyed fishing at farm ponds, going to the Prairie Band Casino, shooting pool at KNJ’s and spending time with his wife, family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Tasha Holmes of Topeka; daughters, Lacinda Housholder and husband Danny of Tecumseh, Heather Clift-Holmes of Topeka, Melanie Davidson and husband Ryan of Overland Park and McKinzie Holmes of Topeka; step-children, Dustin Highfill, Dakota Simmons, Jesse Simmons and Jaycee Sisco all of Topeka; sister, Nancy Rose and husband Jimmie of Topeka; half-brother, Alvin Holmes and wife Paula of Council Grove; a cousin (Who was thought of as a sister) Loretta Massey and husband Robert of Topeka; 14 grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. Numerous extended family and friends also survive.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Topeka Cemetery at 1:00 pm.   The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday evening at Davidson Funeral Home.   Memorial contributions may be made to Davidson Funeral Home, 1035 N. Kansas Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66608.
